Loading Up, Moving Out

Hey there!! So this is officially my last post before heading back to school!!! You might be wondering why there are so many exclamation points after that last sentence. The answer is because I am, in fact, extremely excited to go back to school! Yes, I am indeed one of those freaks who thinks buying new notebooks and pens and planners is thrilling.

Tax Free Weekend (+ Monday)

Hello again! Great to talk to you lovely people for the second time in three days! Nothing insanely exciting has happened since I last blogged, but I was lucky to be able to experience the wonderfulness that is Tax Free Weekend. See, here in the incredible state of Tennessee we have a fun little event every so often where our lovely state government decides to lift the tax on certain items for a limited time. Usually this happens at the beginning of the summer or before school starts in the fall, and this past weekend was the selected time for this amazing opportunity! And you better believe I took full advantage of it!

Beach Bum

Hiya! Since the last time I posted, my skin has gotten more sunburnt tanner, my hair has gotten (sunbleached) lighter, and my heart has gotten happier. Because I just went on the most incredible, fun-filled, entertaining trip ever. That's right, folks, #67 has been crossed off the 101 in 1001! For the past few days, I spent the majority of the time soaking up the sun and having the time of my life laughing with my best friends. It seriously was such a perfect trip, even though not everything went as planned. Nevertheless, I wouldn't have changed a thing, and I love my lady pals even more now (if that's even possible).

Adios Amigos!

Hey, friends! Right now I am dreaming of palm trees, coconuts, and waves lapping at my toes. Why, you may ask? Well, I'm going to the beach tomorrow!!! I literally cannot wait. Five of my besties from high school and I are leaving bright and early for Myrtle Beach. I don't even care that all six of us will be in one bedroom (and all sharing one bathroom), I just want to see the clear ocean and the gorgeous sunsets! This little trip will also complete #67 on my 101 in 1001 list! And possibly #5, if I can find a good book to bring. And maybe even #41 <<< just kidding!

Olympic Distractions

Hiya! Sooooo it's kinda been a long time since I last blogged. This is most likely for one of two reasons: 1.) I have been incredibly involved with my busy life and haven't had a chance 2.) absolutely nothing exciting has happened that has been worth blogging about 3.) nothing exciting has happened but I have been pretending to be incredibly busy. Option #3 may or may not be the right reason...But now I can make a mega post sharing all the fun things that have happened over the past week! This post might be a little all over the place, though, considered the Olympic opening ceremonies have about 98.685% of my attention right now.

Snapshot: Chicago

Heyyy! I'm back from Chi-Town (unfortunately). It's good to be back home, but I seriously love Chicago. I went through a period where I believed I was destined to move to the Windy City when I graduated college. However, the boyfran quickly reminded me of the extremely cold winters Chicago experiences and I quickly rethought my plan. I just can't do the cold. I get whiny, start to complain, and basically make everyone around me miserable am better off in warmer weather. This trip brought more blazing hot temperatures (100+ degrees), though, instead of freezing ones, but was still an amazing little vacation. But since I just got home a few hours ago and am exhausted, let's zoom on through this little post! More pictures, less words.

Woppin' in the Windy City

Celeb Status

Well, hey there! I can't believe it's almost Sunday already! This weekend has literally flown by. Work, friends, and the boyfran have kept me busy the past few days. But though the weekend is soon coming to an end, in a way it is just beginning for me. Why, you may ask? Because I'm leaving tomorrow to visit the big sister in Chicago! That's right, homeboys and homegirls lads and lasses, #25 on my 101 in 1001 list will soon be crossed off! But before I explode from excitement discuss the Chicago plans, let's talk about the start of the weekend, shall we?

Never a Dull Moment

Heyyyy partay people! Guess what?? It's almost the weekend! Weekends are kind of pointless during the summer, though, dontcha think? Actually, come to think of it, I typically work more on the weekends than I do during the week. So I guess my weekends are more work than play.... I feel slightly depressed now. On to happier thoughts!

Wow, I am honestly surprised by myself! Posting (almost) every day for the past three days? It's a new record! Maybe this means that I have taken an ambitious attitude towards blogging. Or maybe it is just an indication of me having too much free time. Let's go with the first option.

Life Through the Lens

Hey, friends! I'm backkkk! I sorta kinda forgot to mention that I would be in Illinois all week, and since my grandparents still have insanely slow dial up don't have the best Internet access in the world I wasn't able to blog at the good ole farm. Unbelievable as it may seem, my week in SoIll (Southern Illinois...yes, I am totally making that happen) was filled with festivities! Hotlanta

Hey, peeps! Yesterday was definitely one of the best days of summer I've had so far. The boyfran and I decided to make a short-notice trip to Atlanta a few days ago, and I had a list of fun activities planned! We planned our little road trip to revolve around the World of Coca-Cola, since I got free passes from my Coke Rewards points. I had some other points of interest in mind, but the best road trips are the spontaneous ones, right? That's what I like to call livin' life :)

Summer Lovin'

So, I think I am coming to the realization that this whole frequent-blog-posting thing may be a little more sporadic than I thought it would be. I've been kind of sucking at keeping up with blogging for the past week, but I've just been too caught up with summer lovin' every day! And then I'm too exhausted to blog before bed since I have my 8:00am class each morning. I am fully aware that I'm pretty much just making excuses here, but it makes sense to me, haha! The Blogger is Back

Go Shawty, It's Ya Birthday

Hiya, kiddos! I am so full of energy right now, it's INSANE! I think I can blame the lovely past two days I have had for all my liveliness and hype. See, the boyfran turned 21 today, and I am a firm believer that birthdays should be celebrated to the absolute greatest potential. I mean, birthdays only come once a year, so why not make the most of them, right?? I personally prefer more of a "birthday month" of celebrations of sorts. So, of course, the boyfran's birthday celebration had to be more than one day!

Catch More Flies with Honey

Wow! Is it seriously already 11:00pm??!! Where the heck did the day go?! I swear summer days have got to be sorter or something. That's the only possibly explanation for why it seems like I was just sitting in my 8:00am class a few hours ago. Speaking of my class.... << like that transition? :)

Thrifting 101

Hiya! So I've been a little MIA the past two days, but I just like to think that I was busy lovin' life, mmmk? :) I left off on Friday saying how the gloomy weather had me feeling lazy as ever. Well, admitting to my slothfulness seemed to spark some motivation in me, and I decided to force my bootay off the couch. I then ventured to one of the most entertaining and exciting places that I know of....Goodwill.

Rain Rain Go Away

Today is a rainy day. I hate rainy days. They are sad and gloomy and dark and for someone who loves happiness and sunshine (I sound like a children's book, haha) rainy days just naturally depress me. Also, I wanted to run outside today. And I don't like getting wet. Thus another reason I am not a fan of rain.

The Beauty of Summer

You can decide for yourself if the fact that I used a rap song for inspiration is embarrassing or not.

Eating My Own Words

Howdy there! I'm from Tennessee, so "howdy" is a form of greeting that is widely accepted here. So don't judge me for saying it, mmmk? :). So considering I just wrote a post yesterday lecturing discussing productivity, I feel it is quite ironic that I virtually did not do one productive thing today.

Productivity

I have come to a conclusion about myself. I love being productive, and most days I feel the need to be very productive at all times. Now don't get me wrong, I think this is a great thing and I definitely use it to my advantage. There is just something so satisfying--at least to me--about writing out a loooong to-do list and being able to check things off one by one.

Ohhh Baby Baby

Hey, chicas and chicos! My Saturday started nice and early this morning at the ripe hour or 8:30 am. I would love to say that, since I'm on summer break from school, I have slept til noon every day and spent the remainder of each afternoon lounging by the pool. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
